Melanoma
A type of cancer
which begins in the skin. If left uncured the cancer cells grow in a disorderly fashion replacing normal tissues throughout the body and disrupting their functions.
Acne
The most commonly diagnosed skin disorder affecting nearly 80% of the population. Acne is cause when a pore becomes clogged, erupts then the infectious contents spread on the skin.
Eczema (dermatitis)
Affecting
15 million people in the United States and about
10 percent to 20 percent of all infants have eczema. In mild forms the skin is dry, hot and itchy, whilst in more severe forms the skin can become cracked, raw and bleeding.
Psoriasis
Affecting more than 14.5 million adult Americans.
The symptoms are patchy, raised red skin covered by a flaky white buildup
that is frequently found on the knees, elbows, scalp, hands, feet or lower back. It is not contagious and is considered an
immune-mediated
disorder.
Rosacea
Disorder of the facial skin that affects an estimated 14 million Americans. While the cause is unknown some of the symptoms are: redness on the cheeks, chin, forhead, and nose, small blood vessels on the face, bumps and pimples, and watery eyes.
Scabies
Infestation by the itch mite (Sarcoptes scabiei). They burrow into the skin producing severe itching that tends to worsen at night.
Hives (urticaria)
Itchy red raised areas on the skin caused by cells releasing mast cells containing histimine.
Warts
Growths in the skin caused by a viral infection
